It's important to know your neighbors, but it is even more important to help your neighbors. Everyone needs a helping hand, and if everyone gave more, we'd barely have to help at all. When we don't help, crime, violence, and a social disconnection will follow. It is said people are made up of two things, genes and their surroundings... and not everyone is born with the best of genes. That is why it is absolutely crucial to stand up for one another, to compensate for the lack of homeostasis.
